May still had Snow capped peaks. | Elk with Rocky Mountains in Background |
We found May in the Denver area to be very plesant and picturesque. There was snow on the higher elevations with springtime green grass on the ground. Everywhere you go you can find something of interest. We simply pulled out a map and started planning our 2 day weekend on the fly and had a wonderful time. |
| | Cliff Dwellings in the Denver area We found this Ansazi site within a few hours of the Denver area. The site allows you to walk thru the dwellings and see the different rooms. There is a small museum as well as an Indian Dance show that is put on a few times a day starting in late May. |
| | Chipmunks in Estes Park, Colorado These chipmunks are very cute and freindly and if you trust animals such as these then they are very trusting of you. I do not recommend feeding them if you are afraid of bites. We were not and the chipmunks were very gentle... and hungry! |
