Overview | The city seen from Fourviere |
This is just one small view from the hill of Fourviere. But it gives you an idea of the size of the City, (1Million inhabitants, with the suburb though, still competing with Marseille ;o) )
The big outstanding building is the tower of Credit Lyonnais. There is a huge shopping center just underneath with cinemas, a must see and a must shopping spree if you do not have that much to spend !! |
| | Sunset on the Rhone What I particularly like is the river with the canalboats (on the left)- |
Bridge over the Saone river The best way to see the city is by foot, if you're not afraid of walking...
Stroll down from the Fourviere hill, the St Jean district and go over the Saone river through the bridge. It will take you to the peninsula formed by the 2 rivers (the Rhone on the east and the Saone on the west). And of course if you like architecture ... there are picturesque buildings all around, the Bellecour square (the largest of Europe). | | |
