Kungälv was a border town from the beginning. Here the Danes, Norwegians and Swedes met some times in peace and sometimes in war. The old fortress of Bohus was started building in 1308 and is still an impressive landmark. Around the fortress the town grew slowly through the years until around 1950 when homes and industry boosted. Today Kungälv is the home of 12.000 people and has a large numbers of companies.
