A Shy & Beautiful Lady

Unlike the other lighthouses presented in these pages, the Currituck Lighthouse is different in several distinctive ways. It sits amidst a lush forrest and has not been painted to provide a unique "day-marking" for ships that navigate the barrier islands of the Outer Banks. To me, I think she was the most impressive structure of them all, perhaps because of these differences. Come read about her life and the valuable service she provides and has provided for so many years!
