A Scenic Panorama & A Cool Drive!

In all truthfulness, I set out to create a few pages about the Blue Ridge Parkway stretching over 300 miles through Virginia and North Carolina but alas there was no Blue Ridge Parkway location... tsk, tsk, hint, hint! The Blue Ridge Parkway traverses through the Blue Ridge Mountains (Duh!) which form a part of the Appalachian Mountains. This larger range begins in Georgia and extends to New York... hence the better known Appalachian Trail. This is just one small part. I hope you will see something of interest.

Splendid Views

It's hard to drive and enjoy the beauty in safety! Luckily, there are many places for formal parking and viewing. Better still, it is common to be able to simply pull off the highway and walk a short way for that beautiful photo op that you just have to have!

Somebody Tell Me... How do trees grow in rock?

Being a half-a$$ed farmer, it intrigues me how trees can grow in what is obviously centuries old rock formations... But I guess they can and it makes for a nice photo, huh? Come along on my Saturday afternoon trip and I'll show you more!
