These bags of expensive glassware are heavy! ;-)
It's not rocket science to deduce that most metropolitan cities provide ample opportunities for sight seeing, food, nightlife, accomodations and the like... So it is the same for shopping! There are ample places to "lighten your load" and "lose your dough" in Stockholm and most anywhere. The moral of this story is "If you have the money, you can find it!", so look around and Shop Where You Are! :-)
What to buy: Sweden is well-know for it's glassware! It's here in abundance and the really nice stuff will set you back a ways!
What to pay: How much have you got?

Nearly all of our shopping was done in the area shops that were within a ten minute walk of our hotel in Nacka... there was a nice variety of stores with clothing, sporting goods, glassware and home decorations, food, spirits, and restaurants and eateries!
One day we decided instead of boarding the bus towards Stockholm to go in the other direction and see where that lead us... Well, it lead us to a very modern two level mall that had many nice stores! It was not a large mall by U.S. standards, but it was neat and had a good variety of shops that complimented one another. I bought a sweater on sale and it has become one of my favorites (I'm a sweater fanatic!).
Anyway, the point is... just go and find what awaits you! The famous and well-known places are fine and worth the time to see, but I think the more interesting and local shops provide the greatest rewards!
What to pay: Depending on what you are looking for, the prices on clothing and sundry items seemed very reasonable.

Even if shopping is not your bag (get it?), a visit to NK is a worthwhile visit! It is a very large and elegantly appointed department store with many levels. I was not intending any disrespect by my comparing it to Macy's but it does have a similar feel but in a unique Swedish way, of course! ;-)
You can find nearly anything that you are looking for here and there are several areas that serve coffee, pastries, and lunch menu items. Sweden is famous for its glass making and there are some beautiful examples to be found here! Unfortunately, all the ones that impressed me the most were also the very most expensive ones... Why is that???
They had a very neat culinary section and I actually purchased some utensils, and believe it or not, sometimes I use them!
I think NK could easily be a "Must See" for any trip to Stockholm, but I put it here... When you visit you can decide for yourself! :-)
What to pay: Not the least expensive store in town, but I guess you have to pay for presentation qualities too, da?
Address: Central Stockholm... close to Sergel Square
