The World is Ever-Changing...Make it Better Today!

VT Meeting...
There Really is Some New Stuff Below Now. No Kidding!!

Irvine is So Fine! See Why!

Newport Beach- Pictures are Up! Nice Pictures But Not So Many Words. Come See What I Mean...

Washington, DC Pages Are Complete! Ok, this is old but still worth a look!

I can’t believe it has been nearly 6 months since I’ve added or updated any pages here. Truthfully, it’s been nearly that long since I dropped in, and that is unacceptable. As a result, I have left emails unanswered, happy birthday wishes ignored, and good VT friendships unattended. No wonder I’m so depressed. I’m a bad person, I am.

Not to be confused with something like an excuse, but it’s been a long stretch of hard road these past months. It’s been far too much to go into great detail and way too much to say nothing. What’s a person to do?

Perhaps the best way to address it, is to give simple thanks to those of you who have been aware of the recent events. And, to those of you who have no clue, my family has experienced several recent losses- all of them tragic in their own way, all of them leaving us with gigantic holes that will never be filled. Hopefully, they can be healed in partial, and we can gain understanding and acceptance that they will never be filled in total.

We will endure and we will survive. We hope when times of great loss come to visit you, and these times will come, you will be uplifted by the friendship and caring of others, just as you have done for us. We are forever grateful and honored.

I can't imagine why you would, but if you have any interest in previous "Thoughts of the Day", you can torture yourself some more here! (ok, this is nearly older than me. I must do something about this some day) Thoughts of the Misty Day... You will learn a bit more about my "So Called Life!"
Just a Few Years Ago...

Long Ago & Far Away there once was a place...

Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you and I very much appreciate your stopping by! My name is Steve and for a few months I've admired the many wonderful places, travels, tips, photos, and experiences that so many have shared here on VT. It provides a most unique blend of cultures, personalities, creativity, sensitivities, humor, lifestyles, families, loves both discovered and lost, memories in the past and dreams of the future... Now THIS is what the INTERNET WAS MEANT TO BE! ;-) Yeah, Baby!

There seems to be a comaraderie present here that this entire world could use to better itself... It seeks to remind us to treat others as we would like to be treated and often goes beyond this to put others before ourselves in the helpfulness, guidance, and advice that is so freely given here.

If our world's political and religious leaders could somehow mirror the philososphy of VT and see that we REALLY all have much more in common than in differences, who could argue that the world would not become a better place? After all, we all share the world as our home no matter where we find ourselves in it or where we visit... And, we had better begin to find some way to take better care of it, and also of each other!

I am truly amazed at how much work and time many of you have given to the development of your pages for the benefit and privilege of others. I hope to do just half as well and please come by and visit often, as I try to update the information as time allows. I apologize for the quality of some of my pictures... many are old and most of my pictures years ago were made into "slides". Lately I seem to have some problem with my scanner that puts lines into my pictures! I hope you can overlook this and just consider this as my signature? ;-) So, safe and happy travels to all of you!

This was the home built by my Great-Grandfather... I lived here for 18 years and it felt more like "home" than any place I have ever known. It was 115 years old when the end of its life came... learn more about it here!
Endings & Beginnings

Hanging On for a Promise of Better Things to Come!

This is the typical look in winter. The grass goes dormant and turns brown, but under the ground, all is alive and awaiting the Spring! So do the cows! During this time, I must feed them hay made in the summer.

Winter Grass
Winter with No Grass... Yes, it Snows here too!

Not Quite There Yet! Still Looking....

Weather is such an unpredictable phenomenon! Some winters we get no snow at all and in others we receive much... There are mountains just one hour drive to the west and many times they act as a "buffer" so that we get little snow. Unfortunately, we tend to get more ice storms here that break the trees and cause power to be lost... Ugh!

Now This is More Like It! :-)

What a green and life renewing time of the year! Just as the ground is without color in the Winter, in the Spring it comes ALIVE! The cows love it and "squirt" streams of "you-know-what"!!! Too much information??? Haha!

Spring!
The "Girl with the Golden Eyes" All Grown Up!

There are Other Animals, Too!

As I may have written before, or since, this farm has been in existence for over 172 years by someone in my family... It is a small part of its former self now and is mostly kept because there is a place for the cattle, they have always been here, and, I like to see them! There are other creatures as well... enter the Kitty family! Daddy is gone... Mama now too! Just Blackie & Tommy...

There is HOPE!

It's said that the rainbow is a sign of hope and promise... If so, then this should be a GREAT DAY! I think there is nothing more spectacular to view than the mystical colors that a rainbow provides... Every color that contributes to this world can be found within and it simply dazzles! Don't chase them, though, as you'll never catch them! Just enjoy them and dream that hope exists!

Nature's Beauty & Lightshow!
Father & Daughter

Love is a Wonderful Thing!

I will end this page with a picture of my greatest pride and joy, my daughter Jessica! Even if we sometimes get on each other's nerves, we know that the Love we have is a bond that will never be broken. We still know that we will always have unconditional love! There is more to this story... stay tuned!
