Architect balthasar Neumann built this in 1720 for archbishop Johann Phillip of Schonborn. It took nearly 24 years to complete the project. The plalace is 167 meters long, 92 meters wide. It is the largest baroque palace in Germany.
2 uniques artistic masterpieces you can't miss!
1) fresco by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo - a 600 sq meter mural is reputed to be the largest fresco ever. (take a good look of the painted drapes, they look like real fabric)
Also many grand rooms like the White Hall, Imperial Hall, the upper floor "reception room" - most furnishing in real gold. This Franconian Versailles, with 3-D art and a massive fresco by Tiepolo, is worth a tour (euro 4 admission with free English guided tour - 2 times daily)
