City of los Chicos Altos On my first trip to Puebla I discovered that not all Mexicans are as chaparritos as are the yucatecos. Starting in Puebla, the further north you go the taller the people are ... I think ... And the sexier ... Anyway ... I have been to Puebla three times during six months and to be true ... if I had to/if I COULD choose a city to live in Mexico, Puebla would be IT. You can find everything there: a large scene of students, bars, pleasant people, culture and arts, museums and normal city life not being too touristy. Also it has city charm, but seems not too big as well, and finally it is really close to the HEART of Mexico.
Besides, Puebla is Mexico's fourth largest city, just behind Mexico, Guadalajara and Monterrey.
It is a vibrant city where the old and the new meet: high-tech industries and talavera artisans' handicraft shops; recently built skyscrapers and majestic 400-year old colonial architecture.
Puebla is located in the valley of the same name, surrounded by volcanoes and snow-capped mountains. |
