The place is dimly lit, and there's no need to eat here if you don't want to, many people use it as a bar as well...

if you want a table its very important to book as it is always packed.

Unlike many of the flamenco bars in madrid, this is one of the more authentic, they have guest apperances every now and again, and most of the people that come are from spain or spanish speaking south american countries.

there's a ?10 cover charge but you get a free drink when you are there as well. It's well worth going to if you want to see some flamenco, the dancers are very very good.

Favorite Dish: sangria from here is amazing!

Tapas: best for late night cocktails

The inside of this restuarant has a weird feel to it... it's like they've decided to put in as many different types of decor to create a world fusion type of atmosphere...

the bar was absolutely packed when we got there but it gets a little easier if you can blag a table.

the ambience of the this place is really nice... a blend of everything.

Favorite Dish: the best thing about this place had to be the cocktails... somethings i'd never even heard of, and in true spanish fashion... more alcohol than mixers

Taberna Bilbao: Octopus cooked in it's own ink!

A modern taberna in madrid, and the food here is delicious and not at all that expensive either.

it's in a quiet street and unlike a lot of the taberna's has plenty of room inside and isn't overcrowded, so it's a good place to relax after a hard days tapas hunting :)

Favorite Dish: Octopus fried in it's own ink is the best thing on the menu here, anyone that's never tried it or thinks it sounds a bit blerrgh.... try it and suprise yourself

This place is set in amongst some of the busy tourist parts of madrid but still manages to stay authentic. The food here is just as my grandmother used to cook and during the day for lunch it's never too busy,

the staff here are excellent and the service is very friendly, and the waiter was very patient with my poor spanish, when i stopped him from speaking in english he was happy enough to chat with me in slower spanish.

Favorite Dish: everything is good here, get a selection or even ask the waiter to select a few dishes for you... the spanish omlete here is really good though.

this place does a lot of teas and coffees... some i've never even heard of so it's worth taking a look...

but the main point about coming here is the desert. Oh the selection is grand but everything on the menu is good... believe me i tried most of it :)

Favorite Dish: banofee pie... yeah i know not too spanish but then i have a thing for this stuff anyways.

This is one of the oldest taberna's in madrid and the inside is very much how it would have been when it first opened... the food in here is good but i would personally go for the tapas with the strong cheese

Favorite Dish: anything cheesy in this place is great!
