Ponta Delgada, the capital of São Miguel, has developed around a lovely, natural bay. It charms with its typical architecture - a mixture of Gothic, Baroque and Manueline style that reminds of colonial architecture. Very nice are the streets covered with paving arranged in geometrical patterns. |
