Port Angeles, pop. 19,000, lies on the northern Olympic Peninsula, sandwiched between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains. The town itself isn't of too much interest; it consists mainly of motels, some visitor facilities, a city pier, and an airport. Most people use Port Angeles as a jumping-off point into Olympic National Park. Still, you can wander around the town and of course, eat Dungeness crab, the area seafood specialty. |

richiecdisc Mon Mar 6, 2006 12:13 UTC I nearly forgot about this little town in WA. Thanks for the reminder and for enjoying another hike with me too. | Confucius Sun Feb 5, 2006 03:04 UTC I went to Hurricane Ridge when I was a little kid and returned many years later with a delegation from Fujian province. It was fun to watch the Chinese officials act like kids when they played in the snow. | mtncorg Mon Jan 30, 2006 15:51 UTC PA is a very interesting town at the end of America. |
