Grottoes is what it's name suggests: a town full of caverns. In the heart of Virginia's karst region, the town has great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as Grand Caverns, a fairly large cave that has the largest concentration of cave shields in the world. For those who want to go spelunking, there are many nearby caves to do so in. My personal pick is Fountain Cave.
