"Gateway to the Canyon" Wellsboro by chewy3326

Wellsboro Travel Guide: 16 reviews and 44 photos

Wellsboro is a quaint little town at the junction of US 6 and SR 660. There is not much to do in the town itself, but nearby is the famous Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. The Gorge is about 800 feet deep and is one of the most impressive in the eastsern United States. In Wellsboro itself, there is a green/common/park with monuments honoring the Tioga County residents who served in the Civil War (This photo is at the monument. Just in case you can't read it, the monument says, "It is noble to die for one's country").

Wellsboro is relatively off the beaten track, and you will not see too many other visitors.
