| | Bled is situated in the northern most part of Slovenia, in the Slovenian Alps by the Italian and Austrian borders. It is the jumping off place for the rest of the Alps, which contain a host of winter and summer outdoor activities. Swimming, skiing, rafting, hiking, bikinig, rowing etc. While Bled dates back to the stone age and was populated during the 7th century, not much of Bled's early history remains within the town. |
Bled is a town by a lake within the mountains. The beauty of Bled comes not from the town, but a short walk outside the town around the lake. The best thing about the town itself is that it is condensed so that it does not invade much of the surrounding landscape. That being said, Bled has much to offer for the whole family. There is miniature golf within the town and a small water park on the lake, not to mention the small beach and the camping area with lot of recreational activites. We did not use our car in Bled the entire time except to take a drive to the alps. Visit the following website for more local information and current events on Bled : http://www.bled.si | | |
