Frankfurt am Main | View of downtown Frankfurt from my balcony |
Hegel said that, "truth may be ascertained by several methods, each of which is no more than a form." As in all aspects of life, the subjective and the objective are in constant back to back battle. This is no different in doing a travel website. It is helpful to get to know the person in order to accept or reject their suggestions, not that all like-minds agree or all dissimilar minds disagree, but it helps to be familiar with the lens you are looking through. Therefore, I feel I should tell a little bit about myself.
Life is fairly straightforward and simple for me at the moment. I have lived in Germany for nearly 6 years, currently residing in downtown Frankfurt. I enjoy living in Europe with each passing year. I work as a school psychologist in an American school outside of Frankfurt, a job that I currently enjoy. I am happily married. I have 2 cats that are like my children.
After going to my first VT meeting, I felt guilty about not having done much with my pages, especially regarding Frankfurt, where I live. I thought I would at least add a nice photo. While traveling has become like a drug for me, I most enjoy the view of the Frankfurt skyline from my balcony. |
Places I am going next... I realized that I haven't explored some of the main sites in Europe that much, so I hope to do so in the coming months. Strasbourg-March Paris-April Brugge-July Alsace-July Piedmont region,Italy-July |
| | Favorite places I have been recently Egypt (mainly Cairo and Aswan) Slovenia (the whole country) Dublin Paris Tromso, Norway Amsterdam Prague Venice Siena, Italy Sevilla Santiago de Compostela, Spain Interlaken, Switzerland Brugge, Belgium |
Favorite movies I've seen recently I only see movies about once every 2 months, so I haven't seen that many recently, but here it goes from 2005 movies:
Munich Batman Begins Star Wars:Revenge of the SIth 40-year old Virgin Good Night and Good Luck |
Main music groups in my rotation Yo La Tengo Tom Waits Miles Davis John Coltrane Belle and Sebastian Modest Mouse Rolling Stones Bob Dylan Uncle Tupelo/Son Volt Nightmares on Wax (only Carboot Soul cd) |
Favorite fiction I've recently read Heatbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers Survivor by Chuck Palanhiuk Drop City by T.C. Boyle Lost Illusions by Honore de Balzac |
| | I put this painting on my page as it gives me daily inspiration as I pass by it 100 times a day in my hallway. For me, the painting says that we should celebrate all the facets of society and our life. |
