It was the first we visited in our stay in Rome. Is a litle state in a big city. We visited San Peter basilica and the place where all the popes are retired. The day was raining and we decided dont go to the top of the dome where the views of Rome and Vatican is amazing. I think that we visited all the corner of the basilica and we enjoyed so much. For more information on my Vatican city page, I vill build soon.Fue el primer sitio que vimos en nuestra visita a Roma. La ciudad del vaticano es un pequeno estado dentro de una gran ciudad. Visitamos la basilica de San Pedro y las tumbas de los papas. El dia estaba lluvioso y no subimos a la cupula de la capilla de san pedro donde la vista es preciosa, ( lo se porque mi hermana subio cuando fue a roma hace 10 anos). The Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere was on of the first consecrated in Rome.It construction begun in the century III was finished between the years 341-52 and it is the first church dedicaded to Maria (Virgen Maria). During the century XVIII had several restructurations and years later arquitectonic modifications. You will see inside 21 romans columns and an spectacular decoration and beautiful altar. You can not miss the oportunity to visit this basilica is one of the most important in RomeLa basilica de Santa Maria del Trastevere fue una de las primeras consagradas en Roma. Su construccion comenzo en el siglo III y acabo entre los anos 341-52 y es la primera iglesia dedicada a la virgen Maria. Durante el siglo XVIII tuvo diversas restructuraciones y anos mas tardes modificaciones arquitectonicas. Su interior es impresionante y es una de las iglesias a las que debes ir.

When you reach the altar on the left side there is a small chapel, is very nice but if you look at the roof you vill see this beautiful paint. When i saw it i could not take my sight of the paint.Cuando llegas al altar en el lado izquierdo hay una pequena capilla, es muy bonita pero si miras hacia arriba veras esta maravilla de pintura. Cuando la vi no podia quitar la vista de la pintura de lo bonita que es.

Coliseum is the simbol of the enternal city of Rome. Here is where people used to entertain and trained to the battles between gladiators, animals and slaves. It construction began in the year 72 A.J. by Vespasiano and finished by his son Tito. It had a capacity for 50.000 people seated, between the 3 levels depending of social class. In the begining was named as amphitheater Flaviado because of Vespasiano surname.El coliseo es el simbolo de la ciudad eterna de Roma. Aqui es donde la gente venia a entretenerse y donde entrenaban para las batallas entre gladiadores, animales salvajes y esclavos. Su construcion comenzo en el ano 72 despues de cristo por Vespasiano y acabado por su hijo Tito. Tenia una capacidad para 50.000 espectadores distribuido entre los 3 niveles dependiendo de la clase social. Al comienzo recibio el nombre de amfiteatro Flaviado que era el apellido de Vespasiano.

In 80 A,C when was finished, for its inaguration Tito celebrated a big inaugural party who took 100 day and 100 nights and where sacrificed 500 animals. Fighters or gladiators used to be good profesionals and if the ofered a good show they could get the pardon. Fights between gladiators and animals were most famous. The naval battles were another grand show. Named Naumaquias, consisted in floaded all the ground court and celebrate there the battle.En el ano 80 cuando estuvo acabado el coliseo, para su inauguracion Tito celebro a una gran fiesta inaugural que duro 100 dias y 100 noches. Los luchadores o gladiadores eran buenos profesionales y si ofrecian un gran espectaculo, podian conseguir incluso el perdon. Las luchas entre gladiadores y animales eran las mas famosas. Las luchas Naumaquias eran tambien muy famosas, consistian en inundar el coso y celebraban batallas entre navios.

With the end of the Roman Empire, coliseum was left and after being damaged for several earthquaqe, it converted in a quarry who proporcionated material to build many palaces in the city. This pillage was finished when in the midle of century XVIII, the pope consagrated this place as a church.

Este pillje acabo cuando a mitad del siglo XVIII, el papa consagro este lugar como iglesia

On the first floor of the coliseum there is a museum where you can see a collection of pottery, sculptures, paints and mosaic. Here it is a small example what you can find there.En la primera planta del coliseo hay un museo donde hay una coleccion de alfareria, esculturas, pinturas y mosaicos. The Foro was the comercial, politic and religious center of all Rome. Its situated on Capitolino and Palatino valley. On the Republic it was a tipical piazza but as that Roman Empire started to frofile, more buildings, temples and tribunals. It importance started to decline at the same time that Rome Empire, from century IV and its buildings buildt by emperors, senators and consuls were on ruins. On Renaissance, the forum was an inspiration fountain for artists and arquitects.El foro era el centro comercial, politico y religioso de toda Roma. Esta situado en el valle capitolino y palatino. En la epoca de la Republica era una tipica plaza pero a medida que el imperio empezaba a perfilarse edificios, templos y tribunales. Su imporancia comenzo a decaer al mismo tiempo que el imperio romano a partir del siglo IV cuando sus edificios construidos por emperadores, senadores y consuls se fueron a la ruina. En el renacimiento, el foro fue una fuente de inspiracion para artistas y arquitectos.

It was inaugurated on 497 B.C. and it was one of the most important temple of the old Rome and there was keept the national treasures. On Ceasar dominations it hold 13 tons of gold ingots, 114 tons of silver ingots and 30 millions of silver coins. Actually there is only 8 columns.Fue inaugurado en el ano 497 antes de cristo y fue uno de los mas importantes templos de la antigua Rome, and alli fueron guardado los tesoros nacionales. En la epoca del cesar fueron guardados 13 toneladas de lingotes de oro, 11toneladas de lingotes de plata y 30 millones de monedas de plata. Actualmente hay 8 columnas de granito.
