Monterrey is a bustling metropolis of over 3 million people, nestled in the middle of several notable mountains. We walked around downtown at night and never felt threatened. Excellent eating opportunities. Up until 20 yrs ago this was a dull industrial city, sometimes called 'The Pittsburgh of Mexico" due to all its steel mills and foundries. That has all changed now, and there are a lot of cultural events, museums, etc. |
