Northern Edge of Macro Plaza

Monterrey is a bustling metropolis of over 3 million people, nestled in the middle of several notable mountains. We walked around downtown at night and never felt threatened. Excellent eating opportunities.
Up until 20 yrs ago this was a dull industrial city, sometimes called 'The Pittsburgh of Mexico" due to all its steel mills and foundries. That has all changed now, and there are a lot of cultural events, museums, etc.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Friendly People, Lots to Do and See
Cons:Lots of People, Fast Drivers, Can be Overwhelming
In a nutshell:Enough to keep you busy for a long weekend at least
