"County Seat, Jasper County" Monticello by TexasDave

A typical rural Georgia town, population about 2,500. Jasper County was formed in 1807 and the town of Monticello was laid out in 1808. It is still very much a rural town.

A couple of it's "Claims to Fame":

On January 14, 1915 residents of Monticello formed a lynch mob and lynched a black family of four, including two women. Dan Barber, Jessee Barber, Bula and Ella Charles were each hung and subsequently shot by the lynch mob.
