"Interesting Stopover Location" Banska Stiavnica by TexasDave

This little town is about a 30-40 minute drive by car South of Banska Bystrica. The ancient castle in the picture can be seen quite a while before you get to the town.

Central Square

The town's central square has this Trinity monument in the middle. Originally a mining town, there was a lot of money here at one time, allowing locals to build ornate structures.

The town is built on the sides of a valley and there are several hairpin turns ascending and descending with shops, hotels, and and houses on either side.
