| First View of Burano from the Vaporetto |
In the 16th century Burano lace was the most sought-after in all of Europe. Nowadays most of what is displayed comes from other countries.
Burano is the next to last in line after Venice and Murano and before Torcello in terms of distance from the mainland. It is very quaint and colorful and can be walked in a short time. Its tilted church spire (a La Tower of Pisa) is one of the first things you can see upon arriving. |
