This remote area is the focal point for viewing the whales, penguins, elephant seals, but not much else. In fact, the whole place practically closes down during the winter months. Eating and sleeping options are varied but most are on the 'rustic' side. But the opportunities to get up close and observe the sea mammals are truely unique. As regards the elephant seals, this is THE only place on the continent where they can be observed on land- the other places where they beach are on remote islands in the South Atlantic.
