Childhood Memories

My Secoond Home

My Mum's only sister lives in Cardiff and my earliest holiday memory is when I was ten years old and my Grandparents brought me across the Irish Sea on the boat to visit my Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Wales.

When I was growing up the Welsh cousins were the closest people in the world to me outside my own family, and in ways they were more siblings than cousins.

The momories are all happy ones - running wild through the grounds of Llandaff Cathedral, picnics at Barry Island, first kisses, acting out a play on a makeshift stage, midnight feasts.

Even writing this makes me wish I was back there again.

It seems like there is some Wales influence here, and melds into the culture. Good job of presenting this town and its sites.
