The Different Faces of Taipei [This page is still under construction]
My travel motto for any destinations is to experience the culture, architecture, people and food.
If you were to ask me what is the most outstanding feature in Taipei, I would have to list food at the top.
Taiwan's finger food (Xiao3 Chi1) are simply irresistable.
Of course, most of the people are nice. It helps that I can speak their language, though not very well. When it comes to asking for directions, the ability to speak Chinese helped me save a lot of time wandering around. |
| | Taiwanese People As I have mentioned, Taiwanese are mostly helpful and friendly folks. I had a great time conversing with them with my novice level Chinese.
Taxi drivers are the most conversant. They are able to give good advices on what are the must-go places in that region. Most of them also engage in politics talk, which I will try not to comment much. But I can sense that they wanted a government that can put people's welfare at the top.
The magic of VT showed again when I had the chance to meet up with my main pre-travel consultant - bakgkm (right most lady in the picture). She also brought along her sister pictured at the extreme left. The picture was taken in a bubble tea cafe at XiMenDing |
