... so busy Wow! The drivings scared me the most. The first day, I rode around with my hands in front of my eyes. Our taxi driver did not pause or hesitate when coming out of an alley or when he needed to make a U-turn. Just pull out, if there are tons of mopeds coming at you, they'll go around. I couldn't believe it. I finally got use to it by the end of the day. Lawyers wouldn't make much money here in Viet Nam. At one point, I saw two moped drivers hashing it out. I was told that if you had an accident, you just stand around and argue. The person that could argue the longest wins. The loser will compensate the winner for damage to their moped and go about their way. No whiplash lawsuit requires. This made me think of those ambulance-chaser commercials on TV. No worker-comp in Viet Nam either. |
