a huge city with much to offer WELCOME TO TORONTO Good luck reading the signs in the picture. Hopefully, by the time you read and understand the signs, you may even reach your appointment in time! I took this pic in a residential Toronto subarb! . . Toronto is the most populated city in Canada and is also the Ontario provincial. The Greater Toronto Area population is estimated at over 5 million. The city is encompassed in the Golden Horseshoe, a densely populated Ontario region with about 8 million people, approximately 25% of the Canadian population.
Toronto is indeed a great city. It took me a long time to appreciate how wonderful it is and am still learning. (Should I say upgrading my knowledge?) If one really makes the effort to find out, one discovers how much is happening. Not just the obvious tourist attractions but also events such as parades, book festivals, exhibitions etc One must just learn where to find out. One good source is this site
Many other criteria make the city impressive. It is definitely cleaner than any major city its size. There is an abundance of parks. The city is relatively safe. I am open to correction; but believe that crime is about one third the level of a similar size city in the USA. Pollution is less than similar size cities. (Note, I said LESS, I never said say pollution free!)
For food lovers, I give a few restaurant reviews. For those with huge appetites, your favorite city intersection would be Steeles and Dufferin. In that intersection, three of the four corners have an all-you-can-eat buffet! Just do not complain to me when you are sick from all that eating!
I can write plenty more here and have every intention of doing so. That still wont do the same justice as visiting. Depending on your likes and needs, Fall or Spring is the best time to visit.
Toronto is well positioned, as we are close to many major cities. This includes Chicago, Montreal and New York. The city is situated about 2 hours drive from the Canada/U.S.A. border. Many Torontonians visit Buffalo (New York state) to shop. (I am purposely leaving out the topic of Toronto Winters. My object is to promote visitors and not discourage them!) |

| | BELOW ARE LINKS TO MY FAVORITE TORONTO PAGES. SOME ALBUMS CONTAIN MORE THAN ONE PAGE. IF SO, THE FIRST PAGE WILL HAVE LINKS TO THE OTHERS. Gay Parade Album 1 Over the years, I have watched the Toronto Gay Parade many times and consequently accumulated many pictures. It required no less than 5 albums to display them, even after elimination! I myself am not Gay, but certainly respect their rights. Some one with a different sexual disposition is not harming anyone else. I therefore hate Gay bashing. I give the link for album number 1: ADJACENT MALLS Here is the first of 7 pages on two huge Chinese malls. There were 5 pages, but I extended that section. That page has links to the other pages. Toronto Buildings 1 Page one of my album on the city's impressive skyscrapers. There I have links to the other pages. Visiting a TORONTO CARILLON 1 I was also treated to a tour of a Toronto Carillon! This is the first of my three Carillon pages. Once there, you will find links to the others. Longest Street in the World Album on Yonge Street, apparently the longest street in the world
Toronto Chinatown A beautiful picture album of the city's Chinatown.
Inside Toronto A collection of unusual pictures that I took in the city.
Toronto Soccer Fans Pictures of Toronto fans celebrating the World Cup Soccer season!

Toronto is a city of immigrants. The population consists of people of from every country in the world. As no one group dominates, there is no major racism which I like. |
