This town is often associated with Johannes Gutenberg, the man who invented the movable-type printing press in 1455.
Mainz makes a good day trip out of Frankfurt which is about 45mins to 1 hour on S-Bahn.
I live on the opposite side of Mainz, Wiesbaden. Both city residents always try to compare each other's pros. Its interesting when both say: " They are living on the wrong side of the River Rhein". |
