Hi fellow VTs!

I guess the 1st chapter of my homepage should start with introducing about myself. So here it goes:

Occupation: Engineer

Loves:
Travelling! The board game, 'Risk' was the first game that really strike me as a child to get interest on the world map. In school, Geography was my favourite subject. Looking at the different colours, shapes, landscape and topography on the world map, always make me very happy. The world is so vast . I tell myself that I must make it a point to go to as many beautiful countries/places as possible.

The joy of travelling for me comes from being able to personally experience what many other travellers describe in travel guides and documentaries. I also enjoy interacting with people of different culture and countries.

I also love photography. I think photography and travelling goes hand in hand together. So whenever I travel, I am so glad that I am able to do 2 of my favourite hobbies at the same time!

My must-haves when I travel:

1990: Genting Highlands & Cameron Highlands(Malaysia). Travelled for the first time in my life with my parents. Couldnt remember much from this trip except the bumpy ride in Cameron Highlands that made me car-sick for hours!

1991-1995: Phuket(Thailand ), Tanjong Pinang (Indonesia), Medan & Lake Toba,( Indonesia), Johore Bahru (Malaysia)

December 1996: Bangkok , Kanchanaburi, Ayuttya, (Thailand.) 1st ever overseas trip without parents. My high school's (known as secondary school in Singapore) geography and history trip.

March, 1007: Bangkok & Pattaya (Thailand), with parents

Summer, 1998: Beijing & Zheng Zhou, (China). 8 days China Immersion Trip, organised by my senior high school (known as Junior college in Singapore)

Summer, 2000: Hongkong. Went with cousins. Beginning of self-sponsored trip.

Summer, 2001: Taipei(Taiwan). First free&easy trip taken.

March 2002: Pulau Tioman, (Malaysia). Cheap deal organised by my university but went at the low season, monsoon!!

Summer 2003: Pulau Redang, (Malaysia) One of the most beautiful island in Malaysia. Went with my university friends

Summer 2004: Bali, I(ndonesia.) My low budget graduation trip.

July- Dec 2004:
After my graduation from the university in June 2004, I was able to get a job and allowed me to go Germany for a work training for 6 months. This allows me to go backpacking in Europe during my weekends and while I am on leave. I travelled alone many of the European cities too. I learnt a lot about myself during the lone trips. This is also the period where my love for travelling deepens and rekindled.

So far, I have been to :

Germany: Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Cruise along River Rhein, Rothenburg, Limburg, Koln,Heidelberg, Rheingau wine-growing towns (Walluf, Martinsthal,Rudesheim,Frauenstein etc). I am living in western part of Germany, near the River Rhein, hence you can see that I travelled widely in the cities/towns along the River Rhein. Munich,Berlin, Garmisch-Partenkirchen (skiing on Hausberg)

France: Paris, Strasbourg

Austria: Salzburg, Vienna

Switzerland: Zuerich, Lucerne

Czech Republic: Prague

United Kingdom: London,Oxford
