Trobador: Basic in Barri Gotic

Restaurant Name: Trobador Braseria Mediterrania
Trobador is a buzzing Mediterranean brasserie with a wide-ranging menu, set on the busy Carrer Ferran. It was very popular and there were a lot of locals dinning there (mainly in large groups) on the night we went. The octopus and Spanish omlette were very average, but the mains were fine and the price wasn't bad. The wait staff leave a lot to be desired though, but for a meal after a day of sightseeing it was fine.
Favorite Dish: Stay simple or go for tapas.

Restaurant Name: il Piccolo Spazio
Simple pizza shop near Placa de la Universitat (with other branches near Paral-lei Metro station on Ronda de Sant Pau and then one at 80 Viladomat) that serves italian food and decent pizza. They also serve take-away and are open late.
Favorite Dish: Take-away pizzas of decent quality
