Sydney Won Me Over!!

by tigerjapan - last update: Jan 22, 2005

Beautiful Sydney

Warm Even In Winter!

You know, I always thought Sydney was a hole! How wrong was I?!!? We went to Sydney for the second time in 12 months. Our first trip there was in December 2003 and we just fell in love with the city. I think it had a lot to do with my friend, who showed us the most amazing time, but i have to admit - Sydney is a beautiful city.
I had been to Sydney when i lived in Australia and it never really did much for me. I thought it was expensive and lacking in soul... Melbourne was my city. Now, I still love Melbourne, but I have definately realised my error in judgement.
August 2004 we were back in Sydney for a short time. It was winter, but it was so warm. 20 degree days and clear skies. I know people who swim in Brighton when it hits 20 degrees!
The cafes and restaurants were all excellent and the city has so much to offer. We took some walks arounf the harbour and went over to the North Shore, to see the houses i'll never own. The beach is so accessible and the water so clean. Australians really ought to be very proud of their beaches.
Sydney isn't a cheap city, by Australian standards, but with us coming from the Yen it was still very reasonable.
I wholeheartedly recommend a trip to Sydney to anyone - winter or summer!!

Pros:"The beaches, the food, the weather"
Cons:"The expense (compared to other Australian cities)"
In A Nutshell:"You deserve to experience it at least once in your lifetime!"

Glad to see you changed your mind about Sydney Tim. Btw mate, think your Sports Travel tip should be in Local Customs as that is something they do every day. That's where I put it on my Sydney pages. Hope you'll visit us again. Cheers mate.
