Bad Harzburg on an Autumn Day - Bad Harzburg

Bad Harzburg is a pretty town situated on the northern rim of the Harz Mountains. It has a population of approximately 25,000 and is renowned in Germany for being a spa town ('Bad' in German means Spa). Its wonderful location earns the title 'The Gateway to the Harz' and there are some very nice walks through the Harz that start form here.

Those signs are common in that area because it is so close to the former border to East Germany - luckily that part of history seems to be over now!
