One word - fascinating!

Where the wall used to stand near Brandenburg Tor
Berlin probably needs no introduction but I'll attempt to anyway. I have been to Berlin twice now and am continually amazed by its rich, tragic and incredibly interesting history.

It is so bizarre to walk over the double cobblestones that marked where the wall used to stand. Pedestrians and motorists trample by in a kind of blase fashion that sometimes I found myself guilty of too. You can't help but wonder the history of that particular area of ground and the people that have stood there before you. There are parts of the city that have obviously had millions of dollars poured in to renovating that area and then others that are so dilapidated that you can believe that the wall only fell about 15 years ago. There are endless monuments and museums to relish and it altogether adds up to a fascinating city and one that I cannot reccommend highly enough to visit.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Last time I was on the TV tower was as kid in school when the wall was still up.
