Admiring some of the sights of New Zealand
Welcome to my travel page!!

I was once a very active member on VT and my VT friends will know that I have been missing for a while due to.... well, life really. Marriage, work, family etc etc. To old friends and new, I hope you enjoy my travel pages :-)

I have a few favourite pages that I would love for you to check out if you have the time and inclination... and please leave me a message to let me know what you think! Firstly, the country where I spent a wonderful year of my life, Germany, and the city where I now reside which holds tons of appeal Brisbane, and finally, a town near where I grew up which boasts a ton of beautiful, coastal landscapes Byron Bay.

I will continually be updating my pages as time allows so please stop by again and don't hesitate to leave me a message. Until then, stay safe, be happy and I wish you very merry travels, Colleen :)
German bumble bee

So true!!!

"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

Jack London

Isn't this quote brilliant?? I would love to say I live like this all the time and I really try to... it's things like VT that serve to remind us all to use our time wisely and speak of all the wonderful adventures waiting for us....

AUSTRALIA!!!

Hmmmm..... I never knew just how unique my homeland was until I left it. Suddenly I was confronted with climates, landscapes and people completely different to those I was accustomed to.

Having seen a number of different countries over the last few years, I can truly recommend Australia as a wonderful holiday destination. So forget about the long flight and your morbid fear of dangerous animals and get over here!! I promise you the pros more than outweigh the cons... what are you waiting for???

Travelling

'Travelling broadens your horizons'. I know it's a bit of a cliche but as far as I'm concerned there is no truer statement.

Travelling has opened my mind and my heart to so many things I have difficulty putting my feelings into words.

A year spent in Europe shaped the person that I am today. It was a neverending series of novel experiences for me. It is amazing, frustrating and altogether wonderful. There are things I will never understand and its probably better that I don't.

A little about me in case your interested....

I am one of 7 children and I have 5 sisters and 1 brother. They are the most wonderful family anyone could ever hope for... they are all loving, unique, supportive, quirky, funny and all the other positive adjectives you can dream up. We have been through some tough times together and have remained strong and united largely due to the wonderful influence of our amazing mother. I am also the proud aunty of 10 nieces and nephews which are all a total joy. I am so blessed.

Pictured left is a photo of me, my Mum and my sister Margie at the airport saying goodbye as I was only moments away from beginning my journey to Europe. We were all a bit upset but we all knew what a great journey I was about to undertake so this tempered our tears a little.
Saying goodbye...

Hi Colleen! Happy birthday from Italy! Cancer is also my mum's dislike, sadly... And I also hate not being bilingual from my birth or childhood, even if I know quite a lot of languages now. Greetings, Michele
