This place will take a chilling hold over you. Unfortunately, Mauthausen is best remembered and most famous for its concentration camp.

We all know how much of a blight on Europe's history the incarceration of various groups of peoples is so I won't hark on about it.

However, I do recommend a visit to the camp as it is an amazing education.

I didn't get a chance to go into the town.
