Yeah, Rome. There is so much history to divulge and digest in the city that has a bit of a dirty factor.
We all know that some cities have a "sexy" dirty factory (Florence!), but Rome has the feel of city that probably doesn't care that is onw of the birthplaces of modern civilisation.
Nonetheless, there is heaps to see and do, I don't deny that, and you'll have a great time.
