Climbing to the top of the Castle you'll have an excellent view of the surrounding area of Chichén Itza. In the picture you'll see the Temple of the Warriors and the Plaza of a Thousand Columns. The columns once supported a roof which have since collapsed. The exact nature of the roof is not known.

Rising above the grassy plain in the center of Chichén Itzá is the giant Pyramid of Kukulcán. Each side has 91 steps and with the addition of the platform at the top there are 365 steps, one for each day of the year.
