Now, a lot has been written and said about South Beach. It is a party city - it is full of tourists - it is one big parade. I must admit though, that the lifestyle is amazing and the people are extremely friendly. Miami in no way represents the USA. So be prepared to feel like you're in South America, but with all american comforts readily available. Pretty much anything goes on South Beach, which is the way it should be. You can party hard, relax on the beach, shop til you drop and eat until you burst. This place can both relax and invigorate. I truly think though, that it is either a place you love, or you hate. It can be quite wild, but takes its own siestas. Anyone who doesn't want to feel intoxicated, passionate and carefree should stay away from South Beach. |

| | Downtown is beautiful to look at, from South Beach that is. Apart from that it is mostly tourist store after tourist store with the odd club or two that are worth braving this part of Miami for. But really, with the variety of clubs and bars in South Beach, you shouldn't need to leave the island. A great website to sign up to for free entry and guest list spots for all hot places in Miami is www.cooljunkie.com - they have all the news and latest info. |

enofile Sun Jan 30, 2005 15:30 UTC I will be in South Beach in February. Your restaurant and bar descriptions will help facilitate my holiday. Thanks. | goingsolo Tue Oct 19, 2004 21:19 UTC Sounds like you found some of Miami's best off the beaten path spots. Lost Weekend is a great hangout. And Halloween on Lincoln Road is definitely a sight to see! | Nemorino Mon Oct 18, 2004 13:17 UTC That’s a great „Dramatic static” photo on your travelogue. And the “Downtown” ones are brilliant, too. | frankcanfly Thu Oct 7, 2004 10:14 UTC Now I'm craving Crab Cakes... for breakfast! |
