The Nile Hilton may not be the best and certainly isn't the newest hotel in the city but it does have a great location, especially if your interest lies in the Egyptian museum. Its only two minutes walk away. The hotel is also a pleasant place to while away a little time ! Its great for using the Metro (which is easy if you are going to Coptic Cairo) and in a city where many taxi drivers do not speak English, "Nil Hilton" is universally recognized :-) Try to walk out onto the main road to pick up taxi's when leaving the hotel as it is much cheaper than having the hotel get you one.
