"A sea-land adventure" a Isla de La Plata Travel Page by Strannik

Going to Isla de la Plata is a must see activity for every one traveling across "Ruta del Sol" in Ecuador. It's a 2.5-hour boat trip from Puerto López and once there, you have a lot to see and hike, specially some hills where you can find some really nice views, like the one above.

According to weather, you should have sunny and hot days from December to June, when you can enjoy snorkeling and see some bird species common of Galapagos laying their eggs just by the side of the walking path! Rest of the year there are colder and cloudy days, but then is when you can watch the spectacular "whales ballet" on the way to the islands, another must see activity.

You can find several nice desert beaches around though it is not easy to get there due to high cliffs, besides, it is part of a national park and you are usually always under supervision who doesn't like taking you there :)

Aaaahhh, I forgot to tell you, we saw from above the cliffs a real shark looking for his food, another good reason to stay away :)
