Bring all necessary medicines Shortage of Medicines Review

Make sure that you have all necessary medicines with you if your destination is Kaghan, Naran or Shogran. There are no medicines, medical store and hospital in this area where you can go incase of emergency. The only nearby hospital used to be three hours way in Balakot, the city that has disappeared from this world after October 8, 2005 earthquake.

Although there is so called dispensary in Naran but its useless. My cousin had feet injury and we rushed to dispensary and so-called dispenser said he cannot help us and recommended that we should go to Balakot. So bring all necessary medicines in good quantity because there should not be any compromise on health!!!

One used to enjoy trip to Naran on a wonderful wide n carpeted road built by FWO. The road has totally vanished after October 08, 2005 earthquake. Temporary road is been made but it often gets closed after aftershocks coz of land slides.

River Kunhar keep on moving along the road, some time parallel the to road and some time hundreds of feet below. From Kaghan onwards till Naran heavy landslides are normal. Three glaciers also come along the way. These landslides and water from glaciers badly damages the road making it very bumpy and uncomfortable.
