Pass thru Haast

To pass thru Haast Pass, you must bypass Haast.

Haast is a very tiny little township that is located on the West Coast of the South Island. It has about 300 population in population.

You can take a few short walks and see a few lookouts points along the State Highway 6.

Tip Top Ice Cream

Many friends told me to try Tip Top Ice Cream which is the local ice cream found in New Zealand.

Had my peach flavour ice cream and it ws delicious. A cone cost $2.

Brought it from the supermarket at the town centre. The staff of the supermarket is allergy to Citronella. So if you have any spray to avoid those sand flies, pls do not step in.

Wilderness Backpackers

We almost stayed at Wilderness Backpackers but have decided to change our Itinerary after some planning.

The staff are fast with their response with emails.

If you plan to stay over in Hasst, why not consider this backpackers accommodation.

Have a pix quite similar to what u have of Bruce Bay...forgot the name altogether of the place until I saw your pix. :)
