The Kawarau Bridge Bungy jump is the home to the world's first and famous bungy jump. It is a 43m high bungy jump operated since Nov 1988. By popular demand, the staff performed a forward Bungy jump, by throwing himself off the bridge with his legs attached by a single rubber band. 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 BUNGY!!! and off he goes. For $140, you can choose to jump backwards, forwards, tandem with another person, spin or somersault at the Kawarau Bungy Centre. Highway 6 between Queenstown and Cromwell. www.ajhackett.com

Even if you don't dare to do a bungy jump, you can walk around the Bungy Centre with exhibitions on the history and equipment used for bungy jump. The surrounding is very beautiful. You can take pictures from the viewing platform or head to the bridge to take some pictures. Did I have a go at the bungy? There is a cafe where you can have a sip of coffee. At the souvenir you could purchase some t-shirt, caps, mugs back as souvenir. Take a look at the video show of past bungy jumpers doing their jumps.

Wanaka is rated as the best town of my South Island trip. Very beautiful secneries here. There are mountains, lakes and clear blue sky and nice weather. What else could I ask for? In winter, you could go for skiing as there are many good skiing slopes around here. It has a unique cinema Paradiso located at Ardmore Street near the Caltex Station. Go there early and select your favourite seat. I would love to spend a day at The Puzzling World by Stuart Landsborough. This is a very interesting place for all ages. You wil be fascinated by all the Illusions. It is like a mini Science Centre back home.

Arrowtown is a quaint historic gold-mining town situated in the Central Otago region of South Island, New Zealand. It is just 20 minutes away from Queenstown. Arrowtown is a very small quaint town and takes only a few hours for you to walk around. It is worth a day trip and it takes about an hour from the nearby towns.
