Chinatown Heritage Centre
If you are visiting Chinatown, why not head to the Chinatown Heritage Centre.
Relive history and be transported back in time when you visit Chinatown Heritage Centre.
Exhibits will bring you back to the Nanyang days where you could see the life of a coolies, samsui women and rickshaw puller. As you enter, piece together what life was like for our forefathers who brave through storms to migrate to Nanyang.
The 3 storey shophouses allow you the explore the culture and traditions of these early Chinese settlers.
What really make me wonder is how a whole family or co-workers squeeze into a small cubicle. How somking of opium, gambling, drinking and prositutions affects the life of the people and their family members.
Upon exit, you will see a souvenier shop.
It is located in Chinatown along Pagoda Street.
Photography are not allowed in the exhibit hall.

There is a new food court named Taman Serisi Food Garden. You can find stalls selling from fish soup, crabs, Malay food, roast meat and mixed vegetable rice. They have both indoor and outdoor seats. It gets very crowded during weekends and you can hardly find any seats and the queue for food is very long too.

Singapore Flyer
The Singpore Flyer is the newest attraction in town.
There are 28 capsules and each of them can take a maximum of 28 person.
The 30 mins ride will cost S$29.50. I was able to get a 15% corporate discount.
From the Flyer, you could see as far as Indonesia and Malaysia.
The best view is around 7pm where you get to enjoy the sunset as well as the lights when it starts to get dark. To avoid crowds and long queue at the security queue, it is best to go on weekdays.
If you are lucky, you could have the whole capsule to yourself especially in the mornings. You can spend your time taking lots of pictures.
View of the construction of the Integrated Resort (IR), the Central Business District (CBD), tall buildings and housing development board (HDB) flats, condominiums, golf club, the barage, sea, Marina Bay area, hotels, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge can all be seen.
Bring a binoculars if you wish to see scenery that are far far away.
Do you know that the Singapore Flyer goes on an anti-clockwise direction?
I would recommend Swisshotel because of its centralised location.
The Cityhall MRT is just below the hotel. Many attractions are within walking distance eg. The Esplanade, Merlion Walk, St Andrew Cathedral, bump boat ride, Singapore Flyer, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay. For shopping Raffles City, Suntec City, Funan, Bugis etc.
Address: Swisshotel
Directions: CityHall MRT Station
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is where mangroves and wetland wildlife thrive. This is a must visit for nature lovers.
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is set in a 130 hectars of mangrove, mudflats, pond and secondary forest. It is home to unique plants and animals and migratory birds.
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a very good place for birdwatching especially between Sep and Mar where you can see migratory shorebirds or waders.
You could watch a 13 mins video show at the small theatrette. It will show you what to look out for when you go on your own walk.
There are 4 routes to choose from.
Route 1 - a 3km long route. Enjoy the tranquility and peace f the mangrove habitat. You will see lots of huge monitor lizards along the way.
Route 2 - a 5km long route which will lead you to the tower hide and prawn pond. You will walk on the longest boardwalk of the reserve.
Route 3 - a 7km route which will lead you the the inhibitants of the freshwater habitat.
Mangrove Boardwalk - a short 500m walk through the mangrove without getting your feet wet or muddy. This is my favourtie because we were lucky to spot a crocodile (foxcroc44 (dave) spotted it 1st). We were caught in a heavy downpur and had to hid under the shelter.
