  • The New 7th Storey Hotel was built in 1953. It is a budget hotel for many backpackers and is located in the heart of the town and is close to Bugis Street, Little India, Arab Street and Suntec City.

It has 38 rooms to cater to the budget traveller. The hotel has gone thru its renovations in 1997 and all the rooms are completely refurbished with TV sets, local telephone lines, controlled air-conditioning and carpeting.

There is a choice of ensuite or shared bathroom. You may request them to show you their rooms before deciding whether you wish to stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

VTers will highly recommend this budget hotel because of its excellent location and budget.

The DHL ballon is just next door. Food is abdundance around the area. Bugis MRT is just at your door step. Budget shopping at Bugis Village is within walking distances.

Unique Qualities: Just few mins walk to Bugis MRT
    Near to great eating places
    Reasonable price

  • South East Asia Hotel is located at Waterloo Street just beside the famous Kwan Im Temple and the Indian Temple. The Jewish Church and a Mosque are also within walking distance from the hotel.

This budget hotel has lots of rooms which are serviced by a lift. The room rate for a standard single room was S$110 nett (20 Jan 2008) which comes with free vegeterian breakfast at their famous Kwan Im Vegeterian Restaurant.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, air-conditioned and come with attached bathroom, telephone and cable television.

Waterloo Street is smack in the heart of Singapore's civic and cultural district, easily accessible by buses, the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains, taxis or simply by foot.

Options for dining, shopping, nitelife and cultural explorations are plentlyful with the area's varied places of worship.

  • The Swissotel the Stamford is very centrally located with the City Hall MRT Station at the door step.

The Raffles City Shopping Mall is just downstairs too.

You could have a great view of the city.
Ask for the sea view or the esplanade view if you stay high enough.

Else head to Equinox ($20 cover charge) for a drink and enjoy the breathtaking view.

Thanks to Dave & Wendy for allowing me to take a pic of their room. The view from their room at Level 39 was excellent. I had a great time chatting with them.
