    If you would like to buy Union Bay, Quicsilver and some local brands clothings, this is the factory outlet that you should go to.

    Lots of clothes to choose from and you can even try them out and alter your pants on the spot.

    I believe the locals buy their clothing here because prices are reasonable and at a fixed price.

    You can get a T-Shirt under 50,000 VND and pants and bermudas under 100,000 VND.

    You can buy back some cheap DVDs back home for each selling at about USD2.

    There are many shops that you can walk in and choose

    Remember to check if you can understand the language. Most of the DVDs are from China.

    We pass by this shop along Trang Tien.

    The motorbike is not for sale;p

    If you wish to avoid the heat, head to Trang Tien Shopping Centre.

    They have two banks on level 1 where you can get good rates for changing USD to Dong. The bank on the right gives you the exact amount while the bank on the left round it down.

    You can find clothings, shops, costmetics and supermaket in this shopping complex.

    Prices are on the high side but you can just do some window shopping and enjoy the aircon.

    Vietnamese Hat: Bring home this souvenier

    You will see lots of souvenier shops selling the famous Vietnamese Hat.

    I still see some ladies wearing this hat.
    They are usuall wore by those street vendors carrying lots of heavy goods balancing them on a pole with two baskets.

    Cost - dont pay more than USD2.

    There is a special Chinese meaning when someone says to the guy that he wore a "green hat'. Go find out about it.

    But this Vietnamese Hat for the soldier is in bright green and with the famous star.

    You can buy them for USD2 and below at any souvenier shop.

    You will come across the striking Red with Yellow star printer on caps or T-shirts.

    Ao Dai is the Vietnamese Coustume for the ladies.

    You can bring back a off the shelve Ao Dai for about USD25.

    Else you can buy material and have it tailor made.

    So take your time to pick the products.

    I brought a handphone sling pouch, but the string attached to it has snapped.

     Had a wonderful half hour in St Joseph's Cathedral. There may have been information on the details, but much in view was self evident. Were those 12 stations of the cross depicted on pillars around the sanctuary? I will go back and check on it.

     hi jen, a nice page about hanoi. want to be there someday. anyway, you should go to lombok whenever you're already in bali. only takes 40 minutes fly and not so expensive by merpati airlines :) that's one of my fave destination within my own country!
