If you would like to stay in the Old Quarters, Phan Thai Hotel (Camellia 4) would be a good choice. It is located in Hang Giay St which is away from the main road (less honking). Price for a double standard room is US$17. If you walkin, ask for the discounted price of US$15 per night. The prices is inclusive of buffet breakfast and free internet access and local phone call (exclude mobile phones 5,000 VND per call).

Anh Dao Hotel is managed by Camellia Hotels group. It is located at Ma May St where you can find a few good restaurnat and travel agencies for Halong Bay or Sapa trip. My friend had a pleasant stay here. The reception staff are kind and polite. You could get $12 for a single standard room which comes with buffet breakfast and free internet access.

If you have a choice between Camellia 2 and Camellia 4, choose Camellia 4 (Phan Thai). Camellia 4 is located at a quieter street in the Old Quarters. Camellia 2 is usually booked out and they bump their guest to Camellia 4. We met some guys who were at Camellia 2 and was bumped to Camellia 4 after their Sapa and Halong trip. They strongly recommend Camellia 4 for its quietness and rooms are more spacious.
