Restaurant Name: Bia Hoi
Grab a glass of Bia Hoi (Beer) on the roadside and sit on the small short stool and enjoy this refreshing fresh beer for a mere 1,500 VND. You can order peanuts or cracker to go with your Bia Hoi. Even a non-beer drinker like me got hook on it. Cheers, bottom ups, yum seng ....... chat with your friend or just see people walk by and hear the honking on the streets. thanks Garth for sharing a wonderful night with us over Bai Hoi.

Restaurant Name: Paris Deli
At the recommendation of Lan, we head for Paris Deli (opposite Hanoi Opera House) for our lunch. This is a nice place for a good french food at an affordable price. We had Duck 89,000 VND, Beef Stroganoff 89,000 VND, lemon Juice 17, 000 VND and Pineapple Juice 22,000 VND. All this for US$14 or 217,000 VND. Food was excellent and it comes with bread and butter to start off with. They even gave us another helping of the bread but we were too full.

Restaurant Name: Hoa Sua Training Restaurant
Hoa Sua is a training restaurant which started in 1995. We had our last meal in Hanoi at this French Restaurant. They do serve local Vietnamness food. We ordered Veal, Duck, Salad and mash potatoes. Food order was taken and served by their students. It reminds me of my SHATEC days where we undergo training in hotels and we also have F&B Outlet where students are the waiter and cooks.

The Fanny Ice Cream has a dinning area at 48 Le Thai To. The shop is very crowded an dmany locals are seen eating there too. I had Mango single scoop for 8,000VND and the Cafe flavour also cost 8,000VND. Some other restaurants serves Fanny Ice Cream too. I had them at Minh Jazz Club and V Cafe.

Restaurant Name: Highlands Coffee
After walking from Old quaters all the way to West Lake, we were so hungy. Saw many people at Highlands Coffee and we went in to take a look at their menu. We had a seafood Pizza 55,000VND, Notre Dame Sandwich 49,000VND, vietnamese Drip coffee 10,000 VND and lemon juice 12,000 VND. It was indeed a satisfying meal. We had a table overlooking West Lake. Just beware of the mosquitos that are flying around esp near the toilets.

On our way to visit Uncle Ho, we came across this V-Cafe that is underground with aircon. We were so glad because we were both tired and thirsty. V-Cafe is located just beside a police sation (gong an). We ordered a coffee (Nau Da) 10,000VND, Fanny Ice Cream 2 scoop (Kem) 18,000VND and lime juice (Nuoc chanh) 12,000VND. The place was well decorated.

Restaurant Name: Restaurant Bohemia
We were near Temple of Literature and was sourcing for lunch. By chance we went into this "western food" restaurant. We were glad that the menu was in English but we couldnt find the "right" thing to eat. So we decided to leave the place to look for Pho. As the waitress could not understand us, a gentlemen (maybe the boss) came to ask for our order. I was so happy that they do have Pho for 10,000VND even it is not on the menu. We see them brewing their own beer but didnt tried it. The Pho Bo (beef) and pork were excellent.

JohnwMontgomery Thu Jul 17, 2008 12:31 UTC Had a wonderful half hour in St Joseph's Cathedral. There may have been information on the details, but much in view was self evident. Were those 12 stations of the cross depicted on pillars around the sanctuary? I will go back and check on it. | ValbyDK Sun Jun 29, 2008 12:34 UTC Hi Jen. You have a great Hanoi page. I'm planning going there later this year. Thx for the tips. | ukirsari Mon Nov 5, 2007 11:39 UTC hi jen, a nice page about hanoi. want to be there someday. anyway, you should go to lombok whenever you're already in bali. only takes 40 minutes fly and not so expensive by merpati airlines :) that's one of my fave destination within my own country! | AlexWorldWide Tue Apr 3, 2007 02:05 UTC Oh how i miss vietnam!
