  • Chatuchak is a large ground on Phahonyothin Road. You can buy anything ranging from local products including food, clothing, household products, handicrafts, pets, and pit plants.

Even a non-shopper like me will go shopping at Chatuchak.

It operates on Saturdays and Sundays. From Wednesday to Fridays, the ground becomes a wholesale for various kinds of plants.

Chatuchak Weekend Market is closed. You may like to visit MBK or Suan Luam Night Market.

Many interesting sights and buildings along Chao Phraya have been lit up at night.
Several restaurants and hotels along the river provide several cruises to choose from.

    Erawan Shrine: Erawan Shrine
  • Tip Rating:
  • Both Thais and foreign visitors come to pay their respects at Erawan Shrine.

People offer colorful flower garlands, lotus, incense and candles.

If your wish has been granted, you will come back with donations of teak elephants or pay the classical Thai dancers and live orchestra to perform to the gods.

Suan Lum Night Bazzar: Joe Louis Theater - Traditional Thai Puppet Show
  • Tip Rating:
  • Sakorn Yangkhiawsod (alias "Joe Louis"), who was consecrated National Artist in 1996, has given new birth to Thai Traditional Puppetry.

Today his troupe is the only one in Thailand that still performs this wonderful and unique kind of puppet play.

Is Chatuchak Market really closed? What a shame if it is real! I had the best time shopping here while in Bangkok! I was still hoping to go back to Bangkok mainly to shop there. :(
