42 hours in Bangkok

by imstress - last update: Oct 25, 2008

My 1st visit to Thailand

This is my 1st visit to Thailand and we have chosen to go to Bangkok because of Tiger Airways promotions.

Although 42 hours is very short, we had a great time eating and shopping in Bangkok.

Itinerary

11 Feb 2005

Arrive at Bangkok Airport at 8.30pm.
Head for the taxi stand (turn right at the exit of the arrival hall).
Took a metered taxi which starts from 35 THB. Took the expressway and paid 20THB for the 1st toll and 40THB for the next tollway
charges.

50THB airport surcharge and 150THB for the taxi fare to Wendy House.
Saw fireworks while on expressway at about 8.45pm.
Took the BTS to Sala Daeng and walk about 15 mins Bazzar.
Had dinner for 280THB.
(green curry , tom yam krung, fried rice, BBQ Chicken (90 THB), Orange Juice (30 THB), Watermelon Juice (20THB)

hi there. you have some great tips. I'd like to stay at Wendy's guest house but was wondering whether it's near Millennium Hilton in Bangkok or if there are other guesthouses in the Klongsan area. Thanks

Is Chatuchak Market really closed? What a shame if it is real! I had the best time shopping here while in Bangkok! I was still hoping to go back to Bangkok mainly to shop there. :(
