Petronas Twin Towers: Sky Bridge Visit on 3 Sep 2006
  • Tip Rating:
  • We had the opportunitiy to do the Sky Bridge Visit this time round without having to queue early in the am for the tickets. Thanks to Zue who work at Petronas and was able to help us secure the precious tickets.

The skybridge is located at level 41 which is 170m from street level. We were given ten minutes to look around and take some pics from the top.

We watched a video presentation before we were called by our colour tags to clear the security and proceed to take the lift.

  • Petrnoas Twin Towers is the pride of Malaysia. Standing at 452 m above street level and 88 storeys, this is the world's tallest twin towers.

The doule-decked Sky Bridge is located at level 41 and 42 for access between the two towers and as emergency escape route in case ofe emergency.

There are 29 double decker high speed passenger lifts. we took about 40 sec to get to level 41.

The towers were completed in 1996 and are fitted with state of the art communication facilities.

The offical opening of Petronas Twin Towers by Dr Mahathir, the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia was on 31 Aug 1999 (Merdeka Day).

    Chinatown: Chinatown
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Chinatown in KL is like a flea market street like Bugis Village in Singapore. The stall vendors are selling almost the same things from handbags to t-shirts and watches.

This is where you could use your bargaining skills to get the best price for all your purchases.
There are lots of imitations of designer brands and at very cheap price.

There is a particular street where is the food/restaurant street. You wont be hungry if you are in Chinatown. Lots of food to eat.

    Things To Do: KL Tower
  • Tip Rating:
  • KL Tower is the 5th tallest tower in the world. This communication tower stands at an 421 metres at the top of Bukit Nanas.

There is a revolving restaurant, Seri Angkasa, which has an observation platform that provides a bird's-eye view of KL City.

Entrance fee is RM 20 for adults. (We didnt pay to get to the top of the tower)

There is a new telecommunication tower near Mid Valley. This blue building is very impressive too.

Menara Telecommunications Tower: Menara Telekom Building
  • Tip Rating:
  • Menara Telekom is the new telecommunication building built in 2001 at a height of 310 meters.

This skyscraper is Kuala Lumpur's and Malaysia's 3rd tallest skyscraper. The 55 storey building was designed by Hijjas Kasturi and Associates. It was opened in Feb 2003 by the Datuk Seri Dr. Mahatir Mohamad.

The design was inspired by the bamboo shoot. We managed to take some good shots from the LRT. There may be a confusion between the KL Tower which is called Menara Communication Tower.
